Gravity Harp improvisation from Matti Kallioinen on Vimeo.

Improvisation on the Gravity Harp, an instrument to extract audio/visual music from the movements of objects such as springs, pendulums and goseneck lamps. We are inclined to use concepts such as "light", "heavy", "falling" or "weightless" to describe our experience of music and indeed tonal music gravitates towards the tonic. Can this conceptual overlap between music and physics be exploited?
